ATCC® is a registered trademark of the American Type Culture Collection. ATCC strain designations are cited solely to indicate equivalence and are not intended to imply any affiliation with or endorsement by ATCC.

Pharmacopoeial basis for equivalence: USP <1117>, EP 5.1.4 / 5.1.5 / 5.1.6, and JP General Information <G4> permit use of strains from alternative culture collections that can be demonstrated to be equivalent ("or equivalent strain" / "or strains shown to be equivalent"). NCTC and NCPF strains share the same original isolation source, phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, and WDCM registration number as their ATCC counterparts, and are internationally recognised as interchangeable reference strains.
